Bluegrass Retriever Club Field Trial

This is Knuckers. Knuckers is my dog which is currently competing in field trials and is in training with Trey Lawrence at Tall Oak Retrievers. Knuckers is an amazing dog and a purely pleasurable experience to run. I can't wait to run him every time. Nikon D7000 with AFS Nikkor 24mm f/1.4.

Outside of photography and my work, retrievers are one of my great passions.  Like so many others, I started just wanting a “hunting dog” and pet.  With our friends in the Texas Panhandle Hunting Retriever Club, my interest in doing ” a little bit more” seemed to increase and increase.  This led ultimately to my interest in AKC Field Trials.  This is the ultimate level of competition for a retriever.  It takes incredible amounts of work, dedication and a little luck to be successful.  Each spring and fall, weekends are dedicated to my retrievers.  The Bluegrass Retriever Club trial is the first of two trials in Kentucky. These are a few pictures from the trial.
